New logistics warehouse and 85th company anniversary
After a construction time of six months, the new SCHEMBERG logistics warehouse in Ibbenbüren-Schierloh, Germany was build. SCHEMBERG invested approximately two million euro in the new warehouse. Especially the quick transport connection to the motorway A30 is one important advantage. The 6000 square meters property with an 80 meter long building and a warehouse space of 2700 square meter has an effective space of 2500 square meters. The rest is divided into office rooms, social rooms, boiler rooms and sanitary rooms. There is also a meeting room and a foreman`s office. In the beginning, ten employees are going to work in the new logistics warehouse. The new office capacities in the warehouse are also designed for working teams from Mettingen for temporary projects. The new location is not only build for the final assembly of own parts, also machine-made supplied materials are processed and are directly transported to the customer. As a shop fitting company, SCHEMBERG put emphasis on the architecture and design of the building. Technical aspects have been functionally integrated into the design. Many already in the headquarter used elements have also been used for the new building, but have been further developed or improved. The fundamental principle of transparency that SCHEMBERG represents was integrated into the architecture. The building’s wall is in modern grey with silver elements. As a carpentry, SCHEMBERG used a lot of wood. Inside the warehouse colors and materials, like silver, white and light oak dominate. The lighting concept consists of six skylights and six vertical light bands. The delivery area is stably build with a long loading ramp for two trucks on the southern side of the building. Energy efficiency was one main focus. If no truck is standing in front of one of the two loading docks, both roll-up doors reach to the ground and seal hermetically. Next to the delivery lock is a roll-up door and a high speed door for transportation vehicles with small freight. The doors prevent that too much air escapes. This method reduces energy loss efficiently. While the underfloor heating in the office building is powered with a heating pump, the warehouse space is powered with gas through the overhead heating, which saves energy and reduces dirt accumulation. The opening of the SCHEMBERG logistics warehouse and the 85th anniversary of the company have been celebrated on June 23, 2017 in the new building. Carsten Schemberg showed photo and video impressions of the different construction phases that he photographed with a drone. SCHEMBERG thanks everyone for the amazing evening and the long-term trust.
